archtitectural element from a traditional Thai temple roof. Originating from Khmer temple art during the Sukhothai period, roof gables like this were often used as canvasses for artisitic expression depicting scenes from everyday town life or from the life of the benefactor. This carving depicts the ox, a popular Thai zodiac figure surrounded by foliage and decorated with mirrored glass pieces and some stucco.
