KOREAN BEAN CHEST (P'AT TUIJU)

This smaller version of a rice chest would have been used to store dried beans. The top has a half-lid that can be lifted off completely unless it is locked in the front. The small size of this chest makes it a rare piece of Korean furniture and the natural grain and warm color of the wood make it especially attractive.
