BRONZE AXE HEADS

nice collection of Vietnamese Dong Son bronze axe heads mounted on contemporary metal stands. The smaller blades were made as votive pieces and used in burials. The larger heel-shaped blades were used as war axes and are characteristic of the Dong Son culture. All blades have a beautiful malachite patina.
