Sinotibetan painting of two snow lions depicted as protectors of the sacred Tibetan jewels. The ferocious animals with flaming manes and fierce eyes are raised on their back feet to support a bowl containing numerous wishfullfilling sacred jewels. In Tibet the snow lion is associated with fearlessness and dominance. The panel which used to be part of a cabinet has been reframed for display purposes.
