KOREAN ALTAR CHAIR (GYOUI)

this ancestor chair is part of a typical Confucian memorial altar which were considered to be the ancestors' homes. It was used to place the memorial tablet of the deceased and to burn incense. The chair would stand in front of a lower table with offerings to the deceased.
