the beautiful shape of this vessel is a direct copy of contemporary bronzes of that time. Carefully formed of grey pottery it has been painted with a floral design and incised with pairs of string bands. The motifs reflect the Taoist idea of immortality and the continuation of the seoul in heavenly dimensions.
